
Why do we love wild blueberries? Let us count the ways. They’re tasty (like little bursts of deliciousness that tease the sweet tooth), they’re nutritious (chock full of vitamins and antioxidants), and they’re local (we support Ontario agriculture). They’re nature’s tiny little beloved berries and this weekend Mildred’s Temple Kitchen, along with all the folks at the Evergreen Brick Works, will celebrate them in all their glory at the Wild Blueberry Festival.
Indulge in savoury and sweet treats starring the ingredient du jour, explore craft tables (did someone say blueberry tye dye?) and don’t forget to enter the Wild Blueberry Pie Bake Off. If you’re bringing the little ones, join Chef Donna Dooher for a pie-baking class for kids where they’ll learn to knead, roll and love their dough in preparation for the Bake-Off (10:30am – 12:30pm).
